April 6, 2007This week's WTF momment brought to you by 01BLACKTAHOE.
April 7, 2007Sorry. I'm still not sure what you are asking.
April 7, 2007If you're talking about a Tahoe versus a Pilot in a speed contest, then the Pilot get's the nod. But a Denali or Escalade would take the lead over both. Nevertheless, I've never thought of our SUV's as speed demons...
April 7, 2007well i work for honda and i drive a tahoe, the pilot is smoother and goes from 6 to 3 cylinder mode so u get at least 22 mpg, honda has the number one resale value also, so when u trade a pilot in you get payoff easy but when you trade a tahoe in you at least 7k buried
April 7, 2007sorry guys, I was just wondering with all the tuning and flowmasters and intakes we put on our trucks we would have a chance of racing and beating a small honda civic or accord!!
April 8, 2007Depends on the civic or the accord. So many different engines come in both cars and obviously the weight advantage they have will kill you most of the time. Basically I think anything new that is V6 powered or "si" will get the better of you. My buddy had a previous generation civic "si" (160hp) with a few performance mods. I had an S10 Xtreme V6 powered (180hp) with a few mods as well and we were dead even most of the time. We both ran mid fifteens at the track. From the factory tahoes are good for high 16s to low 17s I think. Here is my old man disclaimer: "Don't go street racing and put others lives at risk as well as your own. Take it to the track. You don't want to hurt, or worse kill anyone or get caught and have that Tahoe sitting in impound."
April 8, 2007Thanks just wondering . over here in n.y. theres alot of honda civics that when they see our trunks with flowmasters they want to race but its not my thing!! thanks !
April 9, 2007I'm a little old for this, but the other day a black honda accord that was lowered with nice wheels and exhaust pulled up to me at a light and was revving his engine. At first I just looked away as he sped off when the light turned green, but as I caught up to him at the next red light I thought I would see what my Denali could do. I revved my engine to let him know it was a go and put it to the floor as the light turned green. Off the line we were even but once my Denali started to roll I just blew by him. I think he may have either had a turbo or some kind of intake leak because as he wound up his engine you could hear a whistling noise. By the time I got to the next light he was turning and giving me the finger. I don't know why he was upset when he was the one asking for it.
He was probably thinking he would blow away a 3 ton suv.
I know this was a little off subject, but when the discussion said Honda vs Tahoe, I had to put my 2 cents in.
